Club Awards

  • Chairpersons Choice award
    This award is given to an individual in recognition of their personal achievements and/or services to the club during the year. This award is chosen by the Club Chair.
  • Most improved awards (Male and Female)
    Awards for to male and female individuals who have dramatically improved their (race) times, made progress with their running, showing commitment to improve and drive to succeed. These awards are open to nominations from members but the final decisions will be made by the committee.
  • Unsung Hero award
    For an individual who goes above and beyond, providing support and helping their clubmates on their running journeys without seeking recognition. This award is open to nominations from members and the final decision will be made by the committee.
  • Club Person award
    For an individual who makes a real difference to the club, promoting the club and sport in general. This award is to honor their dedication and contributions which benefit the club in a positive way. This person does not need to be someone with a ‘working’ role (i.e. a committee member). This award is open to nominations from members and the final decision will be made by the committee.
  • Runner of the year award (formerly sportsperson award)
    Awards for male and female individuals. This award can be based on any or a combination of the following:
    Fastest performance
    Most improved performance
    Most consistent performance
    Most races competed during the year
    Attendance at club nights
    Other running related reasons
    This award is open to nominations from members and the final decision will be made by the committee.
  • Sports performance award
    Award for an individual who has achieved an outstanding performance through competitive events. Ideally this will be for running events but athletic events and triathlons could be included.
    This award is open to nominations from members and the final decision will be made by the committee.
  • 5k Handicap awards (Male and Female)
    Awards for male and female – decided during the 5k track event. Individuals submit their best/recent 5k time before completing a timed 5k with staggered start times. The winners are those who were able to complete their 5k in a better time than predicted (with the largest margin).
  • Cross Country awards (Male and Female)
    Awards for male and female members based on their performances during the year. The Cross country Captains will look at league and other XC performances as well as attendance to choose the award winners.

Club Records

Racing for Wreake Runners is about taking part, and every race is full of team camaraderie and encouragement.
As a club we encourage all abilities, so no one should feel discouraged from entering. However, if it is a PB that

We also have a private Strava group, and members are regularly striving for glory to be on the top!
