The club has an annual Handicap race (established in 1986!) with staggered start times so the quickest goes last and in theory everyone will finish at the same time!

Start time is based on a member’s quickest Wreake track timed 5km from the last year (or recent Parkrun).

New member’s who’ve not ran a Wreake track timed 5km (& no parkrun) are not eligible for trophy (run for fun! –  start at 7pm).
5km on the track is 12 & 1/2 laps
Runner’s responsibility to keep count of their laps!
Shout to timekeeper when you have one lap left.
Enjoy, and try to beat your own previous best!
Fast or slow everyone has an equal chance to win.

2023 Handicap Run
Congratulations to Jane Robinson and Amit Mistry who are the 2023 Handicap winners.

2022 Handicap Run
Congratulations to Alison Court and Bob Clark who are the 2022 Handicap winners.
On a baltic night in December, a great turnout of Wreakes took part in this which also doubled as the 5k Track Standards. Well done to all. And followed by some Christmas cheer.

2019 Handicap Run
For 2019 the handicap was a 5km on the Ratcliffe track (10th Sept). Over 30 Wreakies enjoyed finding their inner Mo and pushed themselves for 12 & 1/2 laps around the track. Well done to Rachel Funnel Waters and Steve Bates– who are the 2019 Wreake Runners Handicap winners! Both knocked minutes off their recent 5k times– proof that the regular track speed sessions we have, combined with varied route runs are improving them as runners. Special mention to Scott Jenkins who ran sub-20 minutes, whilst juggling at the same time!
