The 3 Club challenge

After a welcome post-COVID return in 2023, the 3 Club Challenge will be hosted by ourselves in 2024. Date and all race details will be updated as soon as possible.

The 3 club challenge is an annual informal event between ourselves, Stilton Striders and Barrow Runners. The emphasis is on participation and is a great social local ‘derby’. Unlike the LRRL events where only the top few runners count, the score is driven off the number of runners in the smallest team. So if one team had 22 runners and the others had 25 and 27, only the first 22 runners from each club would count. But the more runners you have in your team the better, as you may be able to drive the other teams participants further down. So everyone can join in and has a part to play! It is not intended to be classed as another LRRL type race but more of a social run to encourage all of our members especially the inexperienced ones to step out of their comfort zones and participate. So, come along and join the fun!

2024 details

The 2024 run will be an evening race during the summer and will be a mix between a cross country and trail/off-road run.

In 2023 we finished 3 out of 3 (although we did have the first place finisher) so will be looking for a big Wreake participation but will need marshals and helpers on the night.

Finishers will be given raffle ticket to match their position. Minimum team score total wins – but limited to number of score to match team with least runners . Trophy for the winning team (I’m not sure Wreake have ever won this! Could 2024 be our year?!)

Each club required to take a few prizes to be handed out to match random finishing positions. Please let me know if you have something you can donate.
