Busy race day, PBs aplenty!

The Wreakies traveled around the UK today, busy running half marathons in London, Peak District, Peterborough, and a marathon in Chester!

Andy C The Running Machine

In London Andy Carmichael achieved a PB at the Royal Parks Half (1:26:09), Andy only joined the club in January, he’s scooped up three LRRL awards last week, and another PB today, he keeps getting faster!

In the Peak District, Marsha Weale, Ash & Karen Holt took on the Tissington trail half marathon. An A-B downhill route through stunning countryside with just cows to cheer you on, and a huge medal for all finishers, well done Ash for a PB – over 2 minutes quicker than his previous best. Elsewhere in the Peak District Fiona Smith and Bruno Nikoloff took on the Carsington Duathlon (5k run 30k bike and 5k run), Fiona got a bit lost and did 7k, but finished the race happy, Bruno once again won his age category!

Three took on the less scenic (but fast & flat) Great Eastern Half at Peterborough, all returned with shiny new PBS, well done fellas (Luke Smith 1:25:41, David Jackson 1:32:42, & Artur Lasinski 1:36:11).

Gaz Munsey can’t get enough of marathon’s, having completed the Berlin Marathon a couple of weeks ago, he now completed the Chester Marathon in 3:36:46 – another PB!

Well done also to Ash Pick in the Beacon Half Trail today, and to Nathan Smith for a swift Golden Gates 5 miler in Derbyshire.

Peterborough Half PB boys

Finally, further to this year’s theme of “Wreake are amazing”, Wreake U13 and U15 girls teams were both 5th in the NATIONAL Road Relay Champs yesterday, technically a different club…but good effort for another little club from Syston!

Well done all, you’ve all deserved a well earned rest!
