Ten Pin Bowling Night

[slideshow_deploy id=’2511′]”On the evening of the 18th of March 22 Wreake Runners and partners descended on the Hollywood Bowl to enjoy 2 “friendly” bowling sessions with food and drink.
We all know the phrase ” It’s not the winning that matters, it’s the taking part that counts” – well that well and truly wasn’t the case as the inevitable happened, the games quickly became very competitive!
With 3 lanes of combatants hurling bowling balls towards the pins, the first session of 10 games was pretty close between the teams, despite my efforts to sabotage the score in Lane 6.
Even after the first session it was clear that we had a contender for King Pin, but could it repeated for the second session?
After consuming some beige but tasty food and more drinks to calm the nerves, the second session was underway.
Perhaps it was the drinks, or was it because we were more relaxed, some interesting bowling styles were observed. We had everything from the push, the smash, through the legs and more interestingly in Lane 6, the Dam Buster.
But there could only be one winner, one King Pin – victorious was Zenon Kurys, playing under his Bowling name of “Sticks 1”.

But of course for every winner we need a loser too, that prize went to our very own Dam Buster, Anne Timlock, I’d like to say that I was never a contender for this award, my bowling said otherwise, so thank you Anne!
We all went away happy and content that a good time was had by all.
Just a final word, should you return to the Hollywood Bowl to gain some  more bowling practise, I would stay away from Lane 6 – what was once a pristine bowling alley now resembles the surface of the Moon, I’ll let you guess who was responsible for that….
So, thanks to all who attended a good night and here’s to the next one!”
